What an amazing gig!
Support
from Shiny Trails and The Dawsons led to the main event with some panache.
The Dawsons especially played a blinder - they improve hugely with every
performance.
Gringo Star made a triumphant return to Bacup with a stupendous set
including all the usual gringo trademarks plus a few new songs. Looking
even more road-hardened and self assured than last year (if that's possible!)
they stormed the footy club with ease, producing song after song with
quality written all over it!
These guys love Bacup as much as we love them. Its a real privilege to know that they feel this way and a real testament to the diehard punters of Bacup and surrounding areas who crave REAL music not TV produced bubblegum tripe.
How recording contracts and major support slots have so far illuded these chaps beggars belief - they wipe the floor with most of this Fratoosier type post-indie doo dah bobbins thats being hyped to oblivion lately! You can still hear the latest album by clicking the hairy dog music player.
